Container Seedlings
Bonnyville Forest Nursery’s principal business is the production of containerized seedlings. We grow many different stocktypes and species for reforestation, afforestation, reclamation and landscape planting. Stock is propagated from seed, woody cutting, green cutting or root cutting material.
Seed Collection, Extraction and Testing
Our Nursery staff are experienced in conducting collections of native tree and shrub seed that meet the Alberta Tree Improvement Standards. Our lab has been registered by the Alberta Government as an approved seed extraction facility to process seed destined for Alberta’s public land.
Co-operative Research Trials
The Nursery is currently involved in growing research trial stock for a number of our clients. We have considerable experience with the rigors and record keeping required to maintain this type of trial. Our company is committed to the continual development of the nursery and silviculture industries.
Silvicultural and Reclamation Consulting
Bonnyville Forest Nursery has been involved with all aspects of stock production and establishment for the reclamation sites. We would welcome the opportunity to provide this expertise to those clients working in this industry
